Asphalt Repair

Potholes, patching, alligator cracking, sunken sections, and crumbling edges fixed at the cause, not just papered over the top.

What It Is

Repair done right.

Most asphalt repairs fail because someone treated the symptom and ignored the cause. A pothole, a sunken section, a patch of alligator cracking, those are what the surface does when something underneath has gone wrong. Throw cold patch in the hole and it pops right back out in a few weeks. We start by figuring out why the spot failed, because the fix is only as good as the diagnosis behind it.

In Southeast Michigan the answer is usually water and frost. Moisture gets into a crack or a low spot, freezes, expands, and breaks the pavement apart from below, and the spring thaw heaves whatever is left. Standing water that refreezes, a base that was never compacted, salt and plow damage, all of it traces back to the same place. So when the base is the problem, we dig out the failed material, rebuild and compact the foundation, and correct the drainage that started it.

Then we cut the patch to clean, square edges, lay hot mix, compact it to density, and seal the joints so water cannot get back into the seam and start the cycle over. We handle potholes, alligator cracking, sunken and depressed areas, crumbling edges, and utility-cut restoration for both homes and businesses, sized from a single bad spot to a whole property worth of repairs.

What's Included

Every job comes
with the full picture.

Pothole Repair
Failed material cut out, the base addressed, then a hot-mix patch compacted to a lasting, level fix.
Alligator Cracking
Areas of interconnected cracking removed and rebuilt, since that pattern means the base has failed.
Sunken Sections
Low and depressed spots dug out, re-based, and repaved so water stops collecting and refreezing.
Edge Repair
Crumbling, broken edges cut back to solid pavement and rebuilt to hold a clean line again.
Utility-Cut Restoration
Trenches from utility work backfilled, compacted, and patched flush with the surrounding surface.
Joint Sealing
Patch seams and joints sealed so water cannot get back into the repair and undo it.
Our Process

How it goes,
start to finish.

01
Diagnose
We find why the spot failed: water, frost, a weak base, or surface wear.
02
Remove
Cut out the failed material to clean, square edges down to solid ground.
03
Rebuild
Repair the base and drainage where needed, then compact it back to spec.
04
Patch
Lay and roll the hot-mix patch to density, then seal the joints tight.
