Asphalt Driveway Installation
A brand-new asphalt driveway built from bare ground up: excavated, based, graded for drainage, and finished by hand at every edge.
Driveway Installation done right.
A new driveway is a foundation job with a black surface on top. Most failures we get called out to fix did not start in the asphalt. They started in a base that was too thin, a subgrade that was never compacted, or water that had nowhere to go. We build a new drive the way it should be built, from the dirt up, so the surface you see is sitting on something that will actually carry it for years.
We start by stripping sod and any soft material, then build a compacted aggregate base to the depth your soil and traffic require. Southeast Michigan is full of clay and sandy fill that behaves badly when it gets wet, so on soft ground we lay geotextile fabric between the subgrade and the stone to stop the two from mixing and pumping. Everything gets graded to shed water before a drop of asphalt goes down.
Then comes the hot mix, laid at temperature and rolled to density, with the edges and the transitions to your garage and the street worked by hand. We write the length, slope, base depth, and drainage plan into the estimate up front, so you know exactly what you are paying for before you sign.
Every job comes
with the full picture.
