What It Is

Driveway Installation done right.

A new driveway is a foundation job with a black surface on top. Most failures we get called out to fix did not start in the asphalt. They started in a base that was too thin, a subgrade that was never compacted, or water that had nowhere to go. We build a new drive the way it should be built, from the dirt up, so the surface you see is sitting on something that will actually carry it for years.

We start by stripping sod and any soft material, then build a compacted aggregate base to the depth your soil and traffic require. Southeast Michigan is full of clay and sandy fill that behaves badly when it gets wet, so on soft ground we lay geotextile fabric between the subgrade and the stone to stop the two from mixing and pumping. Everything gets graded to shed water before a drop of asphalt goes down.

Then comes the hot mix, laid at temperature and rolled to density, with the edges and the transitions to your garage and the street worked by hand. We write the length, slope, base depth, and drainage plan into the estimate up front, so you know exactly what you are paying for before you sign.

What's Included

Every job comes
with the full picture.

Site Excavation
Sod, topsoil, and soft material stripped out and hauled off so the base starts on firm ground.
Aggregate Base
Compacted stone built to the depth your soil type and vehicle load call for, then proof-rolled.
Geotextile Fabric
On soft or clay-heavy soil, fabric separates subgrade from base so they cannot pump and fail.
Drainage Grading
The pad is shaped to carry water off the drive and away from the garage and foundation.
Hot Mix Surface
Plant-fresh asphalt placed at temperature and compacted with vibratory rollers to a tight finish.
Edge And Transitions
Hand-finished edges and clean meets at the garage apron and the street where drives usually fail first.
Our Process

How it goes,

Excavate
Strip the area, dig to grade, and remove every bit of unsuitable material.
03
Base
Build and compact the aggregate, set fabric on soft ground, and shape the grade.
04
Pave
