Asphalt Paving

Good asphalt is ninety percent what you cannot see. The mat you walk on is the last few inches of a job that lives or dies underneath it. Skip the base work and the surface looks fine for a season, then the first hard winter finds every weak spot. We build the foundation first, match the depth to the load and the soil, and treat the asphalt itself as the finish coat on top of work that was already done right.

In Southeast Michigan that foundation has to fight a lot. Freeze-thaw cycles pump water in and out of the ground all winter, clay-heavy subgrade holds moisture, and the spring thaw heaves anything that was not built to move with it. We cut drainage into the grade so water leaves the surface instead of standing on it and refreezing. Then the hot mix goes down at temperature and gets rolled tight while it is still workable.

We pave residential driveways, commercial lots, private lanes, farm drives, and access roads. Our own crew runs the job start to finish, no subcontractors handed the keys halfway through. If a surface has to carry vehicles through a Michigan year, we can build it to hold up.
